Regular check-ups through pregnancy covering fetal growth monitoring, anomaly scanning (anatomy scan at 18–20 weeks), blood tests, blood pressure monitoring and nutritional counselling. High-risk pregnancies — including gestational diabetes, hypertension, previous caesarean section, twin pregnancy and advanced maternal age — receive more frequent reviews.
The labour room at Apex Multispeciality Hospital is staffed by trained doctors and nursing staff round the clock, and our obstetricians are available to manage your delivery from the first signs of labour through to the birth. If labour does not progress as planned or a complication arises, an emergency caesarean section can be done without delay, because our operation theatre runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The labour room, the operation theatre and the newborn care area are in the same building at Sector 19, Kopar Khairane, so mother and baby do not have to be moved between hospitals. You do not need to pre-book for an emergency. Call +91 85912 35064 or come directly to the emergency entrance at any hour.
Epidural anaesthesia is available at Apex Multispeciality Hospital for labour pain relief, subject to clinical assessment by the obstetric and anaesthesia teams. An epidural is administered by an anaesthetist into the epidural space in the lower back to provide effective pain relief during labour while allowing the mother to remain awake, alert and able to participate in the birthing process. The suitability, timing and safety of epidural analgesia are assessed individually based on the mother’s medical condition, stage of labour and obstetric requirements. See the Painless Delivery page.
Performed when vaginal delivery is not safe including placenta praevia, previous multiple uterine surgeries, breech presentation, fetal distress and failure to progress. An emergency C-section can be performed in the Apex OT at any hour. Planned (elective) caesareans are scheduled with the consultant. See the Caesarean Section page.
Pregnancies with gestational diabetes, high blood pressure (gestational hypertension or preeclampsia), thyroid disorders, cardiac conditions, previous stillbirth, twin or higher-order pregnancies, or pregnancies after assisted reproduction require more intensive monitoring. The obstetric team works alongside the cardiology, nephrology and diabetes teams as needed.
Care continues after delivery wound healing monitoring after C-section or episiotomy, breast-feeding support, postpartum blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring, and screening for postpartum depression. The paediatric team sees the newborn before discharge.
Call +91 85912 35064 when labour begins or if you have any concern. For an emergency heavy bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, reduced fetal movement, severe pain, or water breaking before 37 weeks come directly to the emergency entrance at any hour. Do not wait to call first.
Maternity care is covered under most inpatient health insurance policies, subject to room-rent caps and co-payment terms. Cashless delivery is available at Apex for patients with empanelled insurers. See the insurance and TPA page.
The best choice depends on the consultant’s experience, NABH accreditation, OT availability, and whether the hospital can handle complications. Apex is NABH accredited and has four MS/MD-qualified obstetricians.
Yes. Apex Multispeciality Hospital has 24-hour operation theatre and anaesthetist availability for emergency caesarean sections. Emergency C-sections can be performed at any hour when medically required, without the need for prior booking.
It helps to meet one of the consultants antenatally so your records are on file. However, emergency admissions for labour are accepted at any time without prior registration.
A painless delivery (epidural) is a normal vaginal delivery with epidural anaesthesia for pain relief. The baby is still delivered vaginally; the difference is that the mother is significantly more comfortable throughout labour. It does not increase the need for a C-section.
No we don’t have it.
